Early Years Framework
The Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) and The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia V2.0 (EYLF) guide children’s learning and development from birth to eight years.
Guided by these frameworks, we focus on your child’s health, wellbeing, supportive relationships, and developing communication and social skills.
Preparing for the Outside World
With the introduction of the Free-Kinder Initiative as a part of government early childhood reforms, sessional kindergarten is now free for all children in three and four year old kindergarten programs at Bimbadeen Pre-School.
Government funding only applies to one service, so if your child attends a pre-school and a child care program, funding can only be applied to one.
Learning Through Play
Our program is built on play-based learning. Through play, children naturally develop skills and attitudes that benefit them. Whether painting, building, or using their imagination, every activity is a step in their learning journey.
Program Planning and Adaptation
We recognise every child’s learning experience is as unique as they are. Our program adjusts to your child’s ideas, strengths, and needs, with input from parents through focus letters. This flexible approach helps us support their growth and development at every stage.
Exploring the Curriculum Framework
Our pre-school program covers the five key learning areas outlined in the curriculum framework. This well-rounded approach supports every part of your child’s development, from social and emotional growth to cognitive and physical skills. Excursions and special visitors add to the experience, giving your child real-world learning beyond the classroom.
Social Skills and Teamwork
Children start to understand the importance of working together, sharing, taking turns and developing respectful relationships. They experience leading and being led by others, gaining a deep understanding of teamwork and collaboration.
Creativity and Imaginative Play
Your child will explore their creativity through painting, collage, music, and movement. Imaginative play is also encouraged through small, open-ended play spaces like the home corner, where your child can express ideas and feelings.
Physical Development
Physical activities play a key role in our program. From climbing and threading to cutting and pasting, these carefully chosen tasks help your child build motor skills and coordination in a fun, hands-on environment.
Intellectual Growth
We encourage your child’s intellectual development through problem-solving play, puzzles, books, and engaging discussions. You’ll notice them becoming more confident in expressing themselves through stories, poetry, and meaningful conversations.
